Plum Builders, Inc. is a construction firm founded in 1982 in East Hampton by Al and Mary Giaquinto.
Al Giaquinto, MBA is president of the now family owned company. He holds the certifications of Certified Graduate Remodeler, Certified Green Professional and Graduate Master Builder.
Plum Builders, Inc. has been recognized with ten LIBI awards, five CotY’s and one Chrysalis award for completed projects in the past decade.
Throughout the decades Plum Builders worked for the area’s most notable architects, and as the market trended toward market homes, developed their own market home, which they called The Modern Barn®.
The Modern Barn® is characterized by light and glass, allowing nature to play a greater part in the experience of the interior space, as well as the introduction of technology and the creation of multi-purpose spaces undefined by walls. Plum Builders, Inc. owns the trademark for the Modern Barn in residential architecture and development.
Giaquinto is a member of these professional organizations where he has held a number of leadership positions:

Plum Builders has been a long time past member of National Association of Remodeling Industry – New York/Long Island Chapter.
Giaquinto has served on the Board of the East Hampton Rec Center/YMCA. He is a member of the Baruch College’s 17 Lex Society. In addition he is both a mentor and speaker to City College’s Entrepreneurship Club.
Al Giaquinto is joined by son, Oliver, who has a mechanical engineering background and serves as senior Project Manager, and daughter Catherine Tremblay who holds the position of Manager of Technology and Digital Advertising.
